Dr. Julie Anderson
Dr. Julie Anderson was born in Knoxville, TN and grew up in Chattanooga, TN. After working a summer at the local veterinary hospital – she fell in love with veterinary medicine.
She went on to attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where she graduated with a BS in Biology. She studied veterinary medicine at the University Of Tennessee College Of Veterinary Medicine. After receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004, she went directly into emergency medicine.
Dr. Anderson went on to work in emergency medicine for the next 9 years. During that time she worked with veterinary specialists where she was also trained on internal medicine, surgery and critical care.
In 2013 Dr. Anderson decided to switch gears and enter into private practice. She left Blue Pearl Specialty & Emergency Hospital to join the Crossroads Pet Professional team. Dr. Anderson has really enjoyed the transition from specialty/emergency medicine to general practice. She enjoys all of the personal relationships that she has developed with clients and their pets during her years here at Crossroads.
She has special interests in internal medicine (cardiology and urology) and wound management. She has gone on to have special training for performing abdominal ultrasounds.
Dr. Anderson is married with a family of 4 fuzzy children: 2 cats and 2 dogs. She enjoys spending her off time outdoors whether it is nature photography, hiking or camping.
Leah Brawner is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She grew up on a small town livestock farm in Culleoka, TN. Growing up, she showed Tennessee Walking Horses. Originally, Leah wanted to practice equine sports medicine. However, she fell in love with companion animal general practice and decided to attend University of Tennessee-Martin. She then transferred to Columbia State Community College Veterinary Technician program where she obtained her degree in May 2011. She has been working at Crossroads Pet Professionals since 2011 and loves it.
Leah married Ben in 2012. Together, they manage and operate their family’s Angus cattle farm. They train and work Australian Shepherds. Leah and Ben have seven dog children and one cat child named, Rou, Aubrey, Kate, Silver, Star, Jack, Dusty and Rosie, the cat.
Kendall, LVMT, graduated from Columbia State Community College, Veterinary Technology Department in May 2009. She started working at Crossroads Pet Professional starting in 2008. Kendall has worked part time in other veterinary clinics but loves the Crossroads staff and facility the most.
Her interest in the veterinary profession started as a young child in Germantown, TN where she performed in A-level equine show jumping. Kendall competed in 3 day Event which consisted of Dressage, Cross country and Show Jumping. Also, she was a member of the United States Pony Club. Prior to her Veterinary technician degree, she enjoyed training horses and teaching lessons to various age children.
She has several furry children of my own. Sadie, Snowy, Brinkley, and Zoey are her four dogs. Windsor, and Kit-Kat are her two horses.
Our Reception Desk
Jaime has been with Crossroads Pet Professionals since 1997. She normally works in reception where she loves taking care of Crossroad’s clients. She has 1 dog, Puck, named in honor of her favorite Nashville team, and 3 cats. Jaime loves animals and all of her animals are rescues.
Summer has been a receptionist with Crossroads Pet Professionals since February of 2012. She has two very entertaining pups, Sonny and June. June was adopted from Middle Tennessee Boxer Rescue. She is also the owner of Rafa, her very rambunctious kitty. Summer and her husband Dave are parents to their very beautiful baby boy Bear.
Desiree is the office manager. She has been with Crossroads Pet Professionals since the spring of 2004 and totally enjoys her wonderful work family. She currently does not own any pets because her time is consumed on ball fields with her three handsome sons. However, she gets the daily pleasure of spending time with all of your four legged kids.
Our Kennel Specialists
Katie is the Interactive Daycare Supervisor. She graduated from MTSU in 2015 with an AG Business Degree. Katie has always loved animals of every kind and has great experience from working at the Nashville Zoo for 5 years. She loves to read, cook and has a strong interest in photography. You can enjoy her action shots of our Interactive Daycare on our Crossroads Pet Professionals Facebook page. Katie is the proud mom of a 102 lb Anatolian Shepherd.
Terri, the Kennel Manager, was born in Bel Air MD, where she graduated from High School and attended Harford Community College. As a young adult she enjoyed 4-H and competing in Equestrian Events. She and her husband (Ken) of 35 years now live in Lynnville. They have two daughters Jamie and Melissa. She owned and operated her own kennel in Spring Hill for 10 years. Terri has been with Crossroads Pet Professionals since 2007.
Melissa is a certified groomer. Originally from London, KY, she graduated from Nash Academy of Animal Arts in Lexington, KY. She then taught there for 2 years. She has been grooming since 2000 and at Crossroads Pet Professionals since 2002. Melissa has a passion for animals and making them feel better. She met her husband Tyler while working at Crossroads, he was the bather. They dated for 8 years and have been happily married since then. They have a precious daughter named Faith, a family dog Ty and 2 cats named Momo and Stubbs.
